Overview

Hancock Biological Station is located along Kentucky Lake in western Kentucky. There are offices, classrooms, laboratories, a greenhouse, a kitchen, and 22 cabins. They also have scanning electron microscopes, stable isotope facilities, and a boat house with several boats.

Terrestrial habitats are primarily oak-hickory forest, while aquatic habitats (in addition to the lake) consist of one small pond and an artificial wetland complex. Research at Hancock Biological Station has historically focused on the invertebrate and fish of Kentucky Lake.
