ABOUT US

Our mission is to create a comprehensive guide to the research, outreach, and other resources of field stations. By assimilating resources and information we hope to enable better access to scientific knowledge for researchers and the general public while illustrating the important role these facilities play in society. This website is intended to be a resource to scientists, administrators, policymakers, and the general public.

Established in 2019, we are currently in the early stages of developing our website and cataloging information. Our initial focus will be on the United States and North America, but eventually we hope to have information for all field stations worldwide.

If you have any corrections, would like to see a field station added, or have any additional information that would be useful, please contact us. We welcome contributions from anyone associated with a field station. If you would like to contribute to the basic info or overview description of your field station, or write an article on featured research at your field station, please let us know. There are no fees for the inclusion of a field station or any particular information.

We would greatly appreciate photos of any field stations with permission of the original right holder and curated links to publications, news articles, courses, or other information related to field stations. We can also assist you with establishing information about you field station on various external site (Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, etc).

We are independent and not associated with the Organization of Biological Field Stations, any individual field station, or any field station-managing institution.
