Overview

The Middle Mississippi River Wetland Field Station is located along the banks of the Mississippi River in southern Illinois near Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Primary habitats are wetlands on the alluvial plain. This station also manages five other tracts of land in southern Illinois that cover additional terrestrial and aquatic habitats.

The field station sits on public land owned by the state of Illinois and is open to the public to use for hunting, hiking, and other non-motorized recreational activities.
