Overview

The National Great Rivers Research and Education Center (NGRREC) was established as a partnership between multiple organizations to study the "interconnectedness of large rivers, their floodplains, watersheds, and their associated communities."

NGRREC's Confluence Field Station is located in Illinois along the Mississippi River near its confluence with the Missouri River, within the St. Louis metropolitan area. This field station consists of classrooms, laboratories, offices, conference rooms, and river access.
