Overview
The Meeman Biological Station consists of two separate sites: the Meeman site and the Brunswick site. The larger Meeman site is located on the forested bluff hills above the Missississippi River adjacent to Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park north of Memphis, Tennessee, whereas the Brunswick site is located 20 miles to the east and consists of streams, fields, and swamps in bottomlands along the Loosahatchie River. Both sites are located on the Mississippi Embayment, and inland extension of the Gulf Coastal Plain.
Meeman Biological Station has a conference center, research laboratory, dormitory with a kitchen, and outdoor camping areas for researchers at the Meeman site.
