 Overview

ByWater Biological Field Station at Carmichael Forest and A Studio in the Woods are part of Tulane University's ByWater Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana. The field station is situated on eight acres of bottomland hardwood forest along the Mississippi River.

The land was first purchased by the Carmichaels in 1969 before donating the land to Tulane in 2004.
