Overview

Ouachita Mountains Biological Station is situated in the Ouachita Mountains western Arkansas. The dominant land cover is mixed pine-oak forest and elevations range from 369 to 622 meters. The station is mostly forested, while there is a spring-fed stream and three ponds near the field station's buildings.

Facilities at Ouachita Mountains Biological Station include an education building, laboratory, outdoor pavilion, office, library, cabins, a weather station, and tent camping. The station is adjacent to Ouachita National Forest.

Ouachita Mountains Biological Station also manages Wallace Lake Biological Station in Louisiana.
